Car Free Day Bristol 07

Streets Alive held a car free day and community festival in Easton in Bristol on European Car Free Day Sat 22 Sept. 2007

The event was one of the biggest car free days in the UK with about 3000 mainly local people attending. The street came alive with local music and dance, a local food and craft market and a kids' arts lounge.

The normally busy main road was closed for our biggest Lounge yet and 750+ people were activley engaged in travel related activities as pictured below: Scrap Car art, Travel Bunting making, Footprint Trail, Street Art and Poems, Wacky Bikes trialling, Dr Bike and Bike Guru, plus local travel information.

The event was organised as Stapleton Road Street Fair together with the local Community Partnership.
